Repertoire Requirements
- Repertoire must be original vocal literature. No arrangements or simplifications of hymns nor popular songs will be allowed. Broadway literature is acceptable for one of the selections.
- Complete pieces must be memorized and performed. Those students singing portions of selections or with the music will receive critiques only.
- In multi-movement works (e.g., song cycle), only one movement will count as one piece.
Division III
- Two contrasting selections.
- At least one Classical standard vocal repertoire.
- Arias from the Romantic or Contemporary Periods are discouraged.
Division IV
- Three contrasting pieces from the classical repertoire.
- One art song must be in English.
- One foreign language art song.
- One additional selection.
Maximum Performance Times
- Division III: 9 minutes
- Division IV: 14 minutes
Theory/Technique Requirements
Participants will not be required to do theory or technical requirements.
