We have received word from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) that “teachers of any capacity are included in phase 1B for vaccination.” Proof of eligibility is particular to the provider; you should ask when making your appointment what documentation you should bring. SCMTA suggests possibilities could be your MTNA membership card, business card, letterhead, advertisement, studio policy statement or recital program. Ask what will be accepted ahead of the appointment.
From SCDHEC:
- Teachers of any capacity are included in phase 1B for vaccination.
- Proof of occupation are particular to your provider where you receive the vaccine. When you schedule your vaccination appointment, ask what they’d like for you to bring, if anything.
- DHEC is asking individuals eligible in future phases not to register until their respective phase begins to avoid overwhelming systems and confusion.
- DHEC and its partners have plans in development of notifying the public when and how the vaccine is available to them and how to register for appointments. This includes traditional forms of public notification – news release, website, and social media updates – as well as public service announcements; print, radio and TV ads, community-level outreach, direct mailers, and other forms of outreach to ensure South Carolinians know when it’s their time to receive vaccine. Health care providers will also notify their patients.
