SCMTA has cancelled the 2020 District and State Auditions for this March and April. In making the announcement, President Sara Ernst said, “We did not take this decision lightly, and ultimately, the safety of our communities must be our top priority. With the recent governmental requests to limit travel and social gatherings, we know that this is the best course of action.”

All fees paid for District Auditions will be returned. Fees paid via PayPal will be refunded as quickly as we are able. If you do not receive your PayPal refund by March 25, 2020, please reach out to our treasurer, Kathleen Nungesser at kathleen.nungesser@gmail.com. If you mailed your fees by check to your District Chair please contact them about return or disposal of your check.

Thankfully, MTNA offers all of its members a ready-made alternative!

The MTNA E-festival is an online-only performance opportunity where you receive a constructive critique from a highly qualified evaluator. The musician(s) video-records up to 15 minutes of playing, uploads the video(s) to YouTube and provides MTNA links to each video.

For students who have been working hard towards District auditions or are ready to perform some of their repertoire, consider this as an alternative. The cost is just $25. The MTNA eFestival runs year-round, so you can submit at any time.
